Employees of IBM Italy showing Second Lif
décembre 12, 2007
If the interests of Second Life raises many questions, we know what is socially serve the online virtual world created by Linden Lab: protest. The movement will last from 9 am until 21 pm. Organised by the Global Union Federation Uni (services sector), this event brings together over 900 people according to the blog devoted to the movement. All employees of IBM Italy would participate in the action. Other employees of international Big Blue, union activists of the European and international metallurgical (when paired with the collective agreement of the computer industry) and other people in solidarity joined in the demonstration. The union federation is protesting against a recent decision that IBM has cancelled the participation pay to company performance. According to Christine Revkin, the union Uni international service, based in Lausanne (Switzerland), this would represent a loss of EUR 1000 per year per employee, reported AFP. IBM Second Life has a strong representation through a virtual business centre he runs to meet its customers and disseminate information on its products. By organizing this event in Second Life, the federation Uni aims to expand the movement throughout the world by mobilizing all international employees of IBM. Chose difficult to coordinate in the real world. This protest movement online against a private company would be the first of its kind on Second Life. A first of which IBM would be well spent. For HR this new form of claim extends the power of the unions. Increasingly services companies is acquiring computer supports communications to manage the buzz voluntary or involuntary employees.Arnaud Chapu
